January was a tough year but we made it...
It's nearly mid-February, but I'm still recovering from January!
Our new year started off rough with uncertainty and sadness, but with each passing day better news and progress were made. We were all able to heal and look forward to the upcoming weeks and months that 2020 would bring us.
Dirty Thirty
Last November my Sissy reached out to me with plans to surprise her hubby for his 30th birthday here in DFW. I was more than happy to assist with the plan, anytime with my family is a good time. She planned a birthday gathering at a retro bowling alley and a night out on the town. They were certainly a breath of fresh air and I look forward to the day they move down here *fingers crossed*.
Back to School
The Twins went back to school, I'm excited about this Spring term. This is the first term they've loaded their schedule since the last time I registered them myself. I learned my lesson with them a few terms ago and had to step back and let them take it upon themselves to register and take a load they could balance with work and personal life. I think they've both turned a new leaf and want to start buckling down. Twin A has also expressed an interest in an esthetics program. We visited a local campus, but I've been doing some research in the surrounding areas as well. I am in full support either way, I am not getting any younger so I need her to develop a new skin regimen for her momma!
Because Texas, that's why! 🇨🇱
For those of us who were born and raised in Texas, we know that Texas weather is BIPOLAR! Most people called in to work for fear of the fog, but I grew up in West Texas where we slid to the office on layers of ice. These two images were taken when I arrived at the office and a half hour before I caught my 5 o'clock train! I told you I had a kick ass view...
Finally February
February finally came and I think the nation in general was happy it did!
The last Sunday of January nine people were killed in a tragic plane crash, including retired NBA Superstar Kobe Bryant and his beloved daughter Gigi. There's been so many articles and pictures published it's hard not to be sad, but ultimately they all left loved ones behind and no matter the fame or income status their lives are forever changed.
Superbowl Weekend 🏈
We look forward to Superbowl weekend, no matter what team's are playing. This year was special to my hometown and any Texas Tech alumni or hardcore Tech fan. Patrick Mahomes a Texas native, now quarterback for the Chiefs, took Texas Tech to the Superbowl and WON! Did I mention I'm also a huge fan of game day party food...
