March Madness continues...

And no I'm not referring to the basketball season we missed...

I've never been a fan of March and this year is no different. I don't have to explain why, unless you live off-grid and have no social interaction you know that the entire world is being affected by COVID-19.

It's been the oddest experience I've ever had. I have had the opportunity to work from home for the last decade, but not on this level! I am beyond blessed that not only am I still working but JC is working as well. Many of my colleagues and friends throughout DFW have been let go or furloughed. My heart breaks for those impacted at this level, I can't imagine how stressed they are not knowing what their future holds.

I've been home for over a month now. The last day in the office, we were told to take what we needed home with us including any hardware or supplies. As usual, I rode the train that day and only walked out with my laptop. It didn't take long to realize I needed to order a few things and quickly setup a home office. I spend most of my time taking it day by day in my sitting room, at my little desk. I may not have been directly impacted, but I don't know how much longer my job will be secured. I'm 100% certain there will be a "new norm" when we're finally able to safely step back into the world we once knew. The most important thing is to be safe and stay home, it's not worth the risk. Live COVID-19 Statistics

A friend of mine from high school, is an art teacher. She put together this video for her students, capturing the first few days of the life we've now been living for weeks. Turn on your volume and watch it on FB.

On a brighter note, I have been able to use this time being productive around the house but more importantly spending time with my family. The only people missing are  my son and parents (Sissy too), oh how I wish they were all here with us! I've had many many many virtual HH's with both family and friends, it's so wonderful seeing everyone and chatting about how crazy life has been.

Like everyone else, we spent our first holiday in quarantine. We were lucky enough to have great weather Easter weekend. We did a few activities, we BBQ, we swam, and we hunted eggs. It was great seeing the boys run around giggling without a care in the world.

It's now late April, I have been keeping myself terribly busy with both work and projects. I did make sure to find the time to recognize one of the many Seniors among are family and friends. As we all know, every child is now being virtually taught and while this may be exciting for some kids it certainly wasn't expected. I feel horrible for the Senior Class of 2020, they won't attend prom, some wont take Senior pictures, they won't get to walk across the stage, etc. My sissy introduced me to a FB page, where I was able to "adopt" a senior who happens to be related to us. We've sent her a few gifts to let her know that this year she is still very special and we're proud of what she's accomplished thus far. I wish we could adopt them all, but we're Mexican and you know what that means...there's a ton of them!
