It's finally over...

Football season is officially over...YES!!!
There's nothing like spending Sunday afternoons with the family in front of a flat screen watching a bunch of overpaid men wrestle for a ball. I no longer have to keep the mini fridge filled (not that it stayed that way) and can finally hang up Hubby's over worn Cowboy's jersey.

The Cowboy's had a horrible season and didn't even make it to the playoffs. We joined hubby's family at R and P's and watched as the Steelers defeated the Cardinals by the skin of their teeth for Super Bowl XLIII. This win officially puts them in the lead for the team with the most Super Bowl wins, six to be exact. Thus, pushing ahead of the Cowboys measly five wins...hehe. Don't get me wrong, I love the Cowboy's and would be willing to pay a couple of hundred for a really good game.

I wasn't really interested in this years bowl like I've been in the past. R thought it would be a good idea for everyone to wear their team jersey, that turned out to be neat. We ate BBQ and hung out for what seemed to be a boring game, full of boring commercials, and has been entertainers. It wasn't until the final quarter that made the whole game worth watching...what an awesome ending. The girls hung out with D and played board games with whoever they could convince. I walked around the house, their house is setup for entertaining so there's always a group of people gathered in every room.

We came home around 9:30 or so and got the girls ready for bed. Twin B was pissed that she had to take a shower since she "hadn't done anything sweaty". She's freakin funny...she hates showers, its like pulling teeth getting her ready for bed. She has every excuse in the book why she shouldn't shower first or how she has just a few more pages to read to get to the end of her chapter, or the most common one of all is "it's almost a commercial".

This weekend was short and it sucks that tomorrow is only Tuesday. My co-worker/lunch buddy was transferred (unwillingly) to another department due to the hiring freeze they threw on us in mid-November. Oddly enough I miss the kid, he's one of the most honest guys I've met in a long time. Oh well, guess it's all about job security anyways. I'm now responsible for both our duties and it doesn't look like he's coming back anytime soon.

Our boy finally has a voice! We hit a  monumentous moment yesterday, captured by his Mommy  and Tia and I can't stop  watching it. Munchkin is 3.5 years old and has pretty much been nonverbal apart  from a handful of words. My girl has been putting so much effort into getting him  up to speed and in a comfortable position before he starts kindergarten. He has  been seeing a speech therapist twice a week for nearly a year and is now  additionally enrolled in a half day program focusing on speech therapy.  This  simple moment of his tiny little voice vocalizing his first short but full sentence "I WANT MORE", made my heart burst instantly. Good  job Little One, your Lolli eagerly awaits your endless voice and thousands of questions!

In the midst of it all...

We've finally made it to July which means we're halfway through 2020!  It doesn't even feel like the year has started for me as I've spent most of my time quarantined sitting at this very desk I type at right now. I haven't posted to my blog in a while because I feel like I have nothing to share, everyday is the same. Although, I am still thankful and blessed it feels very much like my life is on repeat. I have been lucky enough to see my immediate family members including visits from my parents, son, and in-laws. I have my husband, girls, and grandson here to love and gather support almost daily. We've even had a few limited friends over for small gatherings. For that I am thankful for. Just had my 1st # mammogram !  Top 3 reasons I didn't think twice: 1. I'm 40 years old, my risk are higher. 2. Breast cancer runs in my family history. 3. I'm a mother of two daughters and an older sister, its my duty to lead by example. My experience: 1. It didn't hurt, but it wasn't pleasant.  2. It took a whopping 15 minutes.  3. My boobs are bigger than I thought.
