V-day w/Our Besties...
I had an awesome weekend! Our best friends came to visit this weekend and brought Bubba with them. J my dearest and oldest friend happens to be married to hubby's cousin, needless to say we are very close. She's the one person who knows my deepest and darkest secrets (I know hers as well) and would have my back in a heartbeat.
They drove in early Saturday morning, early as in 4am. We woke up around nine, had breakfast, and rushed to Twinkies first outdoor game of the season. It didn't bother us that we ended up having a girls day out with the baby girls. We took the girls to the Purple Cow, an old fashioned burger joint with delicious purple milkshakes. Next, was a stop at the mall to pick-up yet another Build-a-Bear. We were anxious to take K since she'd never been to one before, she picked out a kitty and named it after her dog (silly kid). The guys took the boys to Amazing Jake's and ended up at the house doing typical male things, like purchasing a much needed video game and conquering it. After a few hours of walking around the girls and I headed home to meet up with the guys. We put some movies on for the kiddos and headed out for a drink, or two, ok more like five. It was nice hanging out with J and A again...we've missed them so much. I was pretty disappointed because I forgot my camera and have no pictures of the four of us...absolutely none. When we got home the kids were camped out in front of the living room TV sound asleep.
It sucked that they had to leave so soon. I wish they could've stayed longer, especially Bubba. Every time I see him he gets a little taller and his voice gets deeper. I cant wait till he comes home and things can get back to normal. He started boxing and every time I think about it, it makes me nervous. I just want him to be happy, if boxing keeps him busy and active then it's fine by me.
Today was monumental....the girls and I went bra shopping. They'd kill me if they knew I was blogging about this! It was kinda cute but made me sad at the same time. The girls are already ten, it feels like just yesterday they were running around the house in diapers. We picked out several different bras, some with polka dots, some with stripes, and most importantly matching panties. We had fun and they spent an hour figuring out which one they'll wear to school tomorrow. I know I can't stop them from growing I just hope they don't grow up too fast!
