A day in history...

The beginning of an era of change, the first African American to hold office as the 44th President of the United States. I turned on my truck radio to listen to the inauguration and couldn't help thinking how I knew I would forever remember this day. The historic day that Barack Obama pledged his promises to the people of the United States. It was one of those moments when you remember exactly what you were doing, like September 11th. It made me excited to get through the day and drive home to watch it on TV.
I absorbed his every word and wondered if everyone else had been moved as well. We've all heard these promises and waited as our expectations failed to be met. There is something in his confidence and strength that make you believe. He makes you want to achieve and push yourself. Most importantly, he's a family man and clearly puts them first. He may not be able to fix the nation, but I think he will definitely put us on the road there!
